New EB-5 I-526 Form

New EB-5 I-526 Form

USCIS has issued a new 13-page I-526 form that replaces the old 3-page form. It asks for the applicant’s physical addresses for the past five years, employment history for the past five years, details on the TEA, information about the investment, names of all other investors, etc. The form also requires, for those who are not fluent in English, the name, address, phone number and email address of the interpreter, who needs to sign the I-526 as well. The new form must be used starting on June 9, 2017.

Worldwide EB-5 Investors: China, Vietnam…

In FY 2015, other than China, there were EB-5 investors from Vietnam (239), India (239), Brazil (229), Taiwan (170), Korea (167), and 609 investors from 163 other countries. Note, our associate attorney Nam-Giao Do is fluent in Vietnamese. Vietnam cases can present challenging source of funds issues.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, in 2012-2013, the EB-5 program created 174,000 U.S. jobs. That was 4.3% of U.S. job growth for that time frame.
